Lemtrans rail traffic increased by 30.7% in 2011

In 2011, the volume of cargo carriages by Lemtrans LLC, the largest Ukrainian private forwarding company, increased by 30.74% to a total of 40.4 million tons. The average daily loading is over 120 thousand tons, which is by 42.6% more than in 2010.

Traditionally, the main type of cargo carried by our company is coal. Thus, the rate of cargo loading is over 18 million tons, the increase compared to 2010 amounting to 42.6%. The volume of iron ore (11.48 million tons, an increase by 29.3% compared to 2010) and ferrous metals (3.37 million tons, an increase by 43%) transportation increased significantly.

"This growth has become possible through the expansion of rolling stock operated by the company, and optimization of its use, which enabled a reduce in empty runs. Overall, in 2011 the company acquired more than 1380 open wagons. Over the year, the fleet comprised about 12 000 units", — said Lemtrans General Manager Vladimir Mezentsev.
