Locals in Kirovskoye, Donetsk Oblast, have received 15,000 food sets from the Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Centre. The town with about 30,000 residents is facing a critical humanitarian situation. According to the humanitarian needs map in Donetsk and Lugansk oblasts, 73% of Kirovskoye residents are in urgent need for food.
According to the UN World Food Programme calculations, one food set lasts for 17 days. Each 10-kg package contains cereals, canned food, sunflower oil, flour, sugar, tea, biscuits matches and candles.
The humanitarian needs map in Donetsk and Lugansk oblasts shows that 31% of residents need cereals, 26% — canned food, 17% — milk concentrate, 14% — sunflower oil and 9% — flour and pasta.
As we reported earlier, in August Rinat Akhmetov instructed the Humanitarian Centre to deliver at least 10,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Donbass. Overall, the Centre has brought about 800,000 food sets to Donetsk and Lugansk oblasts to cover the need for food of over 1.5m people.
