The Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Centre has been dispensing food sets to residents of Stanitsa Luganskaya settlement since yesterday. Overall, it has brought 1,000 packages for 14,000 people living in the settlement. This is the first humanitarian aid delivered by Rinat Akhmetov’s humanitarian aid drive to Stanitsa Luganskaya. As the settlement is facing a hard humanitarian situation, the Centre is going to send the next 1,000 food sets soon.
“According to the humanitarian needs map developed for Donetsk and Lugansk oblasts, Stanitsa Luganskaya is among the top five localities in urgent need for food, as mentioned by 60% of respondents. In particular, people need cereals, condensed milk, canned meat and fish, flour, pasta, oil and butter,” commented Andrey Khoroshun, an analyst of the Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Centre.
Residents of other towns in Lugansk Oblast also continue to receive food packages from the Humanitarian Centre. Overall, Rinat Akhmetov’s humanitarian aid drive has brought more than 35,000 food sets to the region, with the next 10,000 food kits leaving for Donbass on 3-4 November. The humanitarian aid is meant for the most vulnerable people, including orphans, the disabled, large families, single mothers and the registered IDPs.
