In Q1 2012, the volume of Lemtrans LLC carriages increased by 43.5%

In the first quarter of 2012, Lemtrans increased its total loading volume to 11.4 million tons, which is 43.5% higher on y-o-y basis.

Among the major groups of goods, volumes of iron ore transportation amounted to over 2.757 million tons, flux – over 1 million tons, ferrous metals – 1.07 million tons.

The most significant — double — growth took place in the transportations of the company’s main cargo — coal, which amounted to over 6.1 million tons.

In 2011, Lemtrans acquired 1308 new gondola cars that enabled a significant increase in the volume of carriage.
