Lugansk Oblast residents continue to receive food sets from the Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Centre. This morning trucks with 9,000 foods sets for IDPs and locals of the settlements facing complex humanitarian situation have arrived to Severodonetsk. Today volunteers have started distributing food sets in the places of compact settlement of IDPs.
Within the next several days mobile volunteer groups will deliver a part of the humanitarian aid to Novoaidarsk and Popasnaya districts as well as to Lisichansk, Schastye and Stanitsa Luganskaya. According to the humanitarian needs map in Donetsk and Lugansk oblasts, the latter is among the top five towns in urgent need for food, as mentioned by 60% of respondents.
Sergey Delas, a representative of the Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Centre in Lugansk Oblast: “We have left 2,000 food sets in Severodonestk and sent 2,000 food sets to Lisichansk and Stanitsa Luganskaya. We’ll deliver 1,700 packages to Schastye,1,700 — to Popasnaya and 1,000 — to Novoaidarsk districts. In November, we are planning to help people in the region of counter-terrorism operations. First of all, we will send food sets to Krasnodon, Sverdlovka and Rovenki where people are in urgent need for help.”
Overall, 36,500 food sets have been delivered to Lugansk Oblast as part of Rinat Akhmetov’s humanitarian aid drive. The help is meant for the most vulnerable IDPs and oblast residents: orphans, the disabled, large families and single mothers.
