Charity of Rinat Akhmetov: Challenges and Solutions 2014-2015.

More than 700 thousand people received assistance from the humanitarian headquarters of Rinat Akhmetov in 2014. This was stated by the head co-ordinator of the Headquarters of Rimma Fil during the event "Charity of Rinat Akhmetov: Challenges and Solutions 2014-2015", which took place in Kiev on February 16.

"712 thousand civilians in Donetsk and Luhansk regions received assistance from the humanitarian headquarters of Rinat Akhmetov in 2014 - by addressing the hotline of the Headquarters and in the main areas of activity - evacuation and temporary resettlement, targeted assistance, food and medicine assistance, and assistance to children. The most vulnerable categories of civilians, those who urgently needed help, received grocery, baby and hygiene kits, first aid kits. The headquarters helped insulin-dependent people, the elderly and children with medicines, paid treatment for injured civilians, and provided psychological support. We evacuated and placed people fleeing the war on temporary bases. Rinat Akhmetov created a Headquarters that saved and continues to save tens of thousands of lives of our fellow citizens every day, " Rimma Filh said . 

Humanitarian headquarters "Help" was created at the Rinat Akhmetov Charity Foundation on August 6, 2014 in order to render maximum assistance to the peaceful residents of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. The headquarters combined the resources and capabilities of the Fund, the SCM Group and FC Shakhtar.  

Anatoly Zabolotny , director of the Rinat Akhmetov's Charitable Fund "Development of Ukraine": "The programs and projects of the fund, which worked in peacetime, were quickly redirected to the task of helping the civilian population of the Donbas. The first evacuated from Kramatorsk and Slavyansk back in May - this is the welfare fund for the program "Orphaned No". The Fund evacuated children's homes, nursing homes, specialized boarding schools from the Donetsk region in the summer. He was involved in resettlement and targeted assistance. The foundation team, its experience and knowledge of the social sphere became the basis of the Staff. "

As the director general of FC Shakhtar Sergey Palkin said , on the base of his beloved club in Donetsk, the largest logistical base for distributing charity assistance to the civilian population was created at the Donbass Arena. Every month, up to 8 thousand tons of products and goods for children are placed, stickers are marked with "Charity help. Not for sale ", are sorted into packages and shipped to points of delivery from the territory of the stadium. There is also a point for issuing sets for children and for future mothers. "Today, about 1 100 people work in the Volunteers of the Humanitarian Headquarters in Donetsk and in the distribution centers of assistance in the regions, 430 of them are employees of our club, as well as their relatives," Sergei Palkin said. 

The practical results of the Humanitarian Headquarters activities in 2014 were the organization of the evacuation of 40,000 people from the military zone, as well as the organization of 257 points of humanitarian assistance in 57 districts and settlements of Donetsk and Lugansk regions, which provided distribution of 1.35 million food packages to the most needy categories. civilian population.  

Rinat Akhmetov's headquarters works in territories controlled by Ukraine, helping the most vulnerable migrants until they recover their social payments. And also in cities that are on the line of fire and in territories that are not currently controlled by the Government.

In 2015, the Humanitarian Headquarters focused on:  

 

  • delivery of food to the peaceful population, which has no access to food (due to lack of products or money) - on both sides of the contact line;  
  • delivery of baby food to children under 2 years of age, to which it is not available - on both sides of the contact line;
  • targeted assistance to residents of the ATO zone with medicines - on both sides of the contact line;
  • targeted assistance to peaceful people who have been seriously injured as a result of hostilities;
  • psychological assistance to the civilian population (work with the "trauma of war"). 

 

As Director of Public Relations and Communications SCM Natalia Yemchenko stated : "Rinat Akhmetov puts at the Humanitarian Headquarters the task only during the first three months of 2015 to provide assistance to no less than 400,000 civilians, delivering not less than 1.2 million grocery sets and 90 thousands of sets for toddlers, and also to help medicines to the elderly and civilians who were injured. Assistance will be provided as long as necessary and solely on the basis of the key principles of the work of the Headquarters - it is efficiency, transparency, neutrality and balance. "   

We recall that according to the UN, during the conflict in Ukraine, 10,000 people were injured, 1 million people left their homes, 5.2 million people live in the conflict zone, of which 1.4 million "are in a very vulnerable position and need in humanitarian aid ".
