Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center has been helping civilians in Donbass for four months. We believe that the grave humanitarian situation in Donetsk and Lugansk oblasts, especially in the territories not controlled by the Ukrainian government, can and must be addressed only through joint efforts of the authorities, international and Ukrainian NGOs and volunteers on the basis of the shared principles and criteria of delivery of assistance approved on the highest level.

Today, on 14 December, the Dnepr-1 battalion that is a structural unit of the Ministry of Interior has stopped 22 trucks carrying humanitarian help of the Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center. It happened near the village of Bohatyr, 29 km from Kurakhove, Donetsk Oblast. The humanitarian aid drive was heading from Dnipropetrovsk to Donetsk with 400 tons of food on board including pasta, flour, oat flakes, biscuits, sunflower oil and condensed milk. One of the trucks transported semolina and cereals for infants.

As of 30 November, eleven humanitarian aid drives of the Humanitarian Centre have delivered 1,082,000 food parcels to peaceful citizens in Donetsk and Lugansk oblasts. In December, the Centre is expanding the variety and quantity of the food and also adding more nutritious groceries.

On 8-13 November, more than 100 trucks will have delivered 150,000 food packages and 20,000 sets for children from Dnepropetrovsk to Donetsk under Rinat Akhmetov’s humanitarian aid drive. By the end of November, the Akhmetov Humanitarian Centre is going to forward 320,000 food sets to Donetsk directly as it is increasing the scope and reach of the assistance meant for residents of Donetsk and other cities and towns facing a critical humanitarian situation.
Lemtrans has bought 1,268 new open cars this year10.11.2014
Since the start of 2014, a freight forwarding company Lemtrans has bought 1,268 new open cars. Today its fleet consists of over 17,000 vehicles and will include 200 cars more by the year end according to the investment programme.
