During the past two weeks, fighting has sharply intensified on the territory of Donetsk and Lugansk regions. Donetsk, Avdeyevka, Happiness, Peska, Marinka, many other settlements are subjected to massive bombardments. The multi-million dollar region lives in fear and horror. The war not only destroys cities, enterprises, infrastructure, residential buildings. The worst thing is the war takes human lives! And these losses are irreparable.
According to the UN, during the last 9 days the war has carried away more than 260 people in the Donbass. Hundreds of civilians are wounded. Hundreds - lost their clothes. The war takes away the parents of children, cripples their bodies and souls.
January 24 became another tragic day of the calendar. Today residential areas of Mariupol were subjected to shelling. According to preliminary data, 27 people died, including 2 children. More than 90 people were injured in various difficulties, including children. The wounded continue to enter the city's hospitals. The "Help" headquarters, according to Akhmetov's decision, renders assistance to all Mariupol people who were injured as a result of today's shelling. We maintain an operational connection with the medical institutions of the city. All the necessary medicines are already delivered to the hospitals where the wounded are brought. We will respond to all emerging needs 24 hours a day. It is precisely this task - to help every countryman as much as possible, not to leave alone with the tragedy, - Rinat Akhmetov set up, creating our Headquarters. Nevertheless, we understand that even such assistance will not return to the families of those who perished, will not bring the health of the severely wounded. No help will give a whole generation a life in which there is no war.
Today's tragedy is another target shot for the future. We ask to stay, while there is such an opportunity. We urge and not tired of calling on everyone and everyone from whom the world depends on the Donbass - to exert maximum influence on the situation, stop the bloodshed and prevent new casualties among the civilian population!
