Over two months of cooperation with the Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Centre, a Kiev-based NGO the Volunteering Hundred has received 3,500 food sets and already distributed more than 3,000 to the IDPs living in the city of Kiev and Kiev Oblast.

Every Saturday the Volunteering Hundred are dispensing the humanitarian aid at 9/11, ul. Frolovskaya to the displaced from Donbass. The packages include groceries, warm clothes and footwear, baby food, diapers, bed linen, blankets, household cleaning goods, stationery, toys and home appliances.

“Almost all the humanitarian aid is being brought by ordinary residents of Kiev”, said Yelena Lebed, a coordinator of the Volunteering Hundred. “Everybody understands that we are all citizens of one country and some of us are facing challenges beyond our control. People have lost their homes, jobs and familiar environment… so all donors who can put themselves into their place realise how important this help is.”

The Ministry of Social Policy estimates there are about 70,000 displaced people in Kiev and Kiev Oblast today.
