The next scheduled trucks carrying humanitarian aid are starting from Dnepropetrovsk to Mariupol on 18-19 September. As part of the second lot of Rinat Akhmetov humanitarian aid drive, they will deliver 90,000 food sets, baby food and personal care items weighing 970 tonnes. This has been shared today by Rimma Fil, coordinator of Humanitarian Centre “Aid+Help” established within Rinat Akhmetov Foundation. The drive has already delivered over 350,000 packages of assistance. The amount is set to grow to 550,000 by the end of September covering more than a million residents in Donetsk and Lugansk oblasts.
“The food sets are the same: sugar, oil, cereals, flour, canned food, biscuits, tea, condensed milk, matches and candles. By tradition, the National Emergency Service fully checked the compliance of the cargo with quality and other standards,” said Rimma Fil. “We are delivering help following the principles of utmost transparency and openness. In particular, we have cooperated with regional and local governments, central authorities, international, non-governmental and volunteer organisations. Every distribution point, the website of Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, the pages of the Humanitarian Centre in social networks describe the content of the packages, how to receive them and the eligibility criteria. We also share this information with everyone calling us to the hot line 0 800 509 001.”
The Humanitarian Centre conducted a survey showing that 50.2% residents of Donetsk need humanitarian aid. Therefore, the “Aid+Help” Centre increased the number of dispatch points in Donetsk and Lugansk oblasts from 21 to 51. Particularly, the second lot will cover more of Lugansk Oblast – from 3 to 19 dispatch points. New dispatch points opened across Donetsk Oblast, too, in Dimitrov, Dzerzhinsk, Dokuchayevsk, the districts of Velikonovosyolovka, Konstantinovka, Krasnoarmeisk, Amvrosiyevka and Telmanovo.
In total, Rinat Akhmetov humanitarian aid drive will deliver at least one million food sets to Donbass.
