From the beginning of 2014, the company Lemtrans  produced more than 46 thousand. repairs of wagons in connection with their damage in the amount of more than 27.5 mnl. UAH The main reason (more than 82%) is the use of grip cranes during loading and unloading operations. 

As the General Manager of Lemtrans  Vladimir Mezentsev noted, only a small part of the damage is detected directly on the spot due to the lack of a thorough inspection of the car. "Since the beginning of the year, only 353 cases of damage have been recorded for the trucks of the company" Lemtrans "during loading and unloading operations, of which 57% occurred in ports," he said. At the same time, according to existing rules and regulations, the company can not fully compensate losses even from the revealed damage: the enterprise pays only the expenses for repair of the car, not taking into account losses from its idle repair.

  "In Ukraine, it is necessary to clearly regulate the issue of the safety of a private park and to strengthen the responsibility of ports and industrial enterprises for its damage. Unfortunately, at the moment there are no real mechanisms for combating this phenomenon ", - noted Vladimir Mezentsev.
