In January-May 2012, Lemtrans Company, within a comprehensive program on rolling stock rehabilitation, repaired 1911 gondola cars. 1590 cars had depot based repairs, 321 cars had capital repairs.

2320 gondola cars were repaired during the same period in 2011.

"This year we have seen the predicted decline in the volume of gondola cars repairs in accordance with the fleet rehabilitation plan; that is, the number of cars of Lemtrans general fleet that need repairs has actually reduced, — mentioned Lemtrans General Manager Vladimir Mezentsev. — Despite this, we, like other market operators, continue to face urgent problem of violations in the technology of cars loading and unloading, which has a negative impact on the technical condition of both the current fleet and new cars".
