Volume of Lemtrans carriages increased by 30.7%

In January-September 2012, transportation of coal by the company’s its own fleet grew by 8.6 million tons or 66.7% up to 21.5 million tons. Volumes of iron ore transportation showed a slight increase up to 8.7 million tons (+0.46% compared with 2011).

Volume of ferrous metals transportation amounted to about 3.12 million tons, while 2.3 million tons were handled in the first 9 months of 2011. In addition, in January-September 2012, 2.8 million tons of flux material were transported, over 942 thousand tons of coke and 493 thousand tons of refractory materials.

This year, Lemtrans has demonstrated the positive dynamics of development and significant growth in cargo transportation. Currently, amid the decline in industrial production, we have consistently been optimizing technologies of rolling stock operation and enhancing interaction with shippers, — said General Manager Vladimir Mezentsev.
