Lemtrans LLC, within its comprehensive program on the rolling stock upgrading, has acquired in 1185 gondola cars since the beginning of 2012. The amount of investment in the rolling stock is over $ 82 million. The purchase was made by means of financial leasing, as well as from the company’s own funds.

"Currently, Lemtrans fleet has over 12,000 gondola cars, with an average age of cars of about 22 years. In addition, we are experiencing the rolling stock deficit with significant demand from the shippers. Because of these and other factors, we are interested in the renewal and modernization of rolling stock as soon as possible" — said the company’s General Manager Vladimir Mezentsev.

According to the management, the strategic area of Lemtrans development has been, along with the fleet upgrading, improved efficiency of its use, as well as reduced amount of rolling stock damage during loading and unloading and shunting.
