Dear colleagues and friends,

Today we celebrate the 25th anniversary of SCM.

Twenty-five years of an incredible journey — of growth, development and success. A quarter of a century in which, together, we have built a company that has become a pillar of Ukraine and a model of responsible, sustainable business.

SCM was founded shortly after Ukraine regained its independence. We have grown alongside our country. We have faced many trials — crises, transformations, a pandemic — and for almost half of our history SCM has operated in the midst of a brutal war that began in our native Donbas. Over these years, we have lost much. We have lost homes and enterprises, and — most painfully — our loved ones and colleagues. Yet we have never given up, nor have we lost what matters most: our faith and our determination to work effectively, to help, to rebuild and to defend our shared values. We have stayed wherever our support was needed. And today, while the war continues, it is especially important to stay strong, steadfast and united: to stand with our country, support our defenders, be a reliable home front and bring our common victory closer. SCM has always been, and remains, a force shaping the future.

From the very first day, we have stayed true to our principles: to work transparently, responsibly and professionally. These principles are the foundation of all we have achieved — and of what we can rightly be proud of today.

Today, SCM is an international business. We are the largest private investor in Ukraine’s economy and industry, and the country’s largest taxpayer. We have long operated in international markets, delivering major projects in Ukraine and abroad. We champion Ukraine’s European choice, embed leading global standards and practices, and contribute to Ukraine’s integration into the EU through investment in key sectors of the economy and industry, in energy independence, sustainable development and the creation of new jobs.

But I have said before — and I will say again — that above all, SCM is you. It is a team of like-minded people who make the impossible possible every day. Your energy and professionalism are behind every success, and I sincerely thank you for your hard work.

There is still much to do. Ukrainian business — and therefore all of us — will bear responsibility for the future: to rebuild our country once a just and lasting peace is achieved, to restore our cities and to create new opportunities for Ukrainians. We have new ambitious challenges and large-scale projects ahead of us — new heights that we will surely reach together.

I wish each of you prosperity, peace, and happiness in a strong and free Ukraine. Happy anniversary, SCM! My best wishes to all who are helping to build the future!

With deepest respect,
Rinat Akhmetov
