SCM Group, the leading financial and industrial group in Ukraine, has increased its stake in Lemtrans authorized capital up to 100%.
"Companies of SCM Group are the main customers of Lemtrans. Therefore, our integration is a natural and logical step. Now we are facing clear tasks: the rolling stock renovation and expansion, increase in turnover, as well as improvement of the quality of services provided. I am sure these tasks are within our powers, – said Vladimir Mezentsev, General Manager of Lemtrans.
To date, Lemtrans LLC operates over 12,000 units of rolling stock. The volume of cargo carried in 2011 was over 40 million tons. The Company's share in the freight carriage market is about 8.5%, (about 14.5% in open wagon transportantion).
We would like to remind that since 2003 SCM Group has been Lemtrans minority shareholder with a share of 19.95% in the authorized capital. In May 2012, SCM Group obtained approval from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine for the purchase of over 50% in Lemtrans authorized capital.
